Union Island : where life is beautiful

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an independent
sovereign state of the Caribbean and part of the
Commonwealth of Nations and the Windward Islands, is located at 13° 15 N, 61° 12 W. The country’s closest neighbours are Grenada, to the south, St. Lucia to the north and Barbados to the east.
St. Vincent is the largest of the more than 30 islands that comprise the nation, covering roughly 390 sq. km (150 sq. miles). The Grenadines
extend 72 km (45 miles) to the southwest. The major islands, north to south, are Young Island, Bequia, The country’s official language is English.
St. Vincent has a high rate of emigration. With extremely high unemployment and under-employment, population growth remains a major problem.
The labour force is estimated at 41,000.
Recent data indicates an unemployment rate between 15% and 18%.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a parliamentary democracy within the Commonwealth of Nations and has a constitutional monarchy whereby
executive power is vested in the British monarch, represented locally by a Governor-General who appoints a prime minister and cabinet of ministers.
Control of the government rests with the prime minister and the cabinet.
By Eastern Caribbean standards, the economy of St Vincent & the Grenadines is not as strong as the economies of its regional counterparts.
Agriculture is the main source of income and export earnings with
banana production being the main crop. St. Vincent is also the world’s leading producer of arrowroot and growsother exotic fruit, vegetables and root crops. Fishing has also been revitalized and a processing complex has been built with Japanese assistance.
The official currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC), though
U.S. dollars and Euros are widely accepted. Tourism is the other main component of the economy. By regional standards, this was relatively late to evolve and was initially hampered by the lack of a suitable infrastructure.
Union Island is part of the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It lies 90 kilometers southwest of Barbados and is within view of the islands of Carriacou and the mainland of Grenada, which lie directly south. Clifton and Ashton are the two principal towns. The island is home to approximately 3,000 residents.
The official language is English, but French and German are spoken by some merchants in Clifton as well.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The tourism industry plays an increasing role in Union Island’s economy.
“Union Island Project Development” The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority and all local initiatives that are on the island. We want to develop with in observance with the culture, the habitats and the nature and sustainable development is the main objective .
The Argyle International Airport is important for making a success.
The tourust industry is going through difficult times. Thats why the development on Union Island must be distinctive from other tourist locations in the Caribean.
The plan has a total of 600 rooms.
With an occupancy rate of 60 % throughout the year – and an average of two people for each hotelroom – the approximately touristtotal is round 250.000. This amount will be after 10 years after the start of development.

We would like to investigate the possibility to realize a casino in one of the
hotel facility. Another option is the realization of a casino in a later stadium on Fregat island. We hope to acquire the necessary permits in the end of 2013 first quarter of 2014. We are recently talking to investors to work with us at this stage of the project. After we get the permits a detailed business-plan must be made and an architect to design the hotel/casino and other structures also a golf course architect to design the golf course (PGA quality) and of course a specialized architect for the marina. In a later stage we will also design a casino (hopefully also on fregat island).
At this stage we want to work with the investor(s) to make this plans so we get all the necessary information out of the market. We understand that there could be fiscal benefits to start up a company in St Vincent and the Grenadines, but we need local financial advice.
